LOCATION CHANGE: Curious George Party at Decorah Public Library
Curious George Party at Decorah Public Library
Date: Tuesday, May 2
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Decorah Public Library
Dragonfly Books is thrilled to celebrate Children’s Book Week with a special Curious George Party on Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:00 am. Children of all ages are invited to Decorah Public Library for stories, activities, and to meet a special guest -- Curious George! Joined by Joan Roach from Decorah Public Library and Lilly Jensen from the Winneshiek County Conservation, there will be activities and fun for the whole family.
Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes -- wherever young readers and books connect. More information about Children’s Book Week can be found at www.bookweekonline.com.
Children’s Book Week also coincides with Screen-Free Week, an international celebration when families, schools, and communities swap digital entertainment for the joys of life beyond the screen. Instead of watching tv, surfing the web, or playing with apps and video games, they read, play, think, create, get active, and spend more time with family and friends.
Dragonfly Books, Decorah Public Library, and Winneshiek County Conservation are excited to offer this opportunity for stories, play, and the unique experience of meeting Curious George in person.
This event is sponsored by Dragonfly Books, Decorah Public Library, and Winneshiek County Conservation. It will take place at Decorah Public Library and is free and open to the public.
