Full of humor and wisdom, The Education of Nancy Adams (Ice Cube Books 2014) is a surprising story of one woman’s sojourn into the past. It’s 1996 and Nancy Adams finds herself in the same place she was 20 years ago. Living in her dead parents’ house, Nancy is about to go to work at the Florida high school from which she graduated. Her new boss was her teacher back in 1976, a man she adored. Nancy may be the teacher, but her education is about to begin as she enters an adolescent world of hormones, rumors, and teenage drama; where students are sometimes more mature than their teachers.
Larry Baker is the author of The Flamingo Rising (Knopf 1997), Athens, America (First Coast Books 2005), A Good Man (Ice Cube Books 2008), and Love and Other Delusions (Ice Cube Books 2012). A Good Man was nominated for “Book of the Year” by the Southeast Independent Booksellers Association in 2010. The Flamingo Rising was a finalist for the Barnes and Noble “Great New Voices” award, a Los Angeles Times “Top 100” book, and chosen by the Iowa Center for the Book to represent Iowa at the 2010 National Book Festival in Washington. It was adapted for a Hallmark tv movie in 2001.
With a PhD in English, Larry Baker began teaching composition and literature on the college level in 1988, but soon discovered that he was an overly critical comp teacher and an overly opinionated lit teacher. Thus, he went back to graduate school earning his certificate to teach basic American History courses at the community college level. Larry Baker is currently an adjunct instructor of American History at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.

ry Ducharme is at the end of his rope. Booze and bad decisions have taken him from the A-list of talk radio fame down to a tiny cinder-block station, WWHD, in St. Augustine, Florida. He talks, mostly to himself, from 10 pm to 2 am. Not sure anybody is listening, reading books and poetry that he likes, not caring if anyone agrees with him, playing golden-oldies from the Sixties,
