NOTE: We are an independent retail bookstore, and not a publisher. We do not provide desk copies of books.
Dragonfly Books is a family owned bookstore. We opened our doors in February, 2011. We celebrate our store anniversary each year on the first day of spring, March 20th.
Customer service plays a big role at Dragonfly Books: if you don’t see a title that you are looking for, we will do our best to track it down for you.

Drew DeSotel, a Luther College student, created this video of the store shortly after we opened in February, 2011:
The Dragonfly Motif
Many people have asked where the name, Dragonfly Books, came from. The dragonfly motif is a common motif in the Arts & Craft and mission style. The symbolism, as stated by The Roycroft Copper Shop, is:
The Dragonfly's brilliant colors, when refracted from sunlight, are symbolic of "seeing the light", a way of encouraging one to reach for their full potential in all their endeavors. It symbolizes strength, courage, happiness and renewal after a great hardship.
We thought this was fitting as we embarked on the new adventure of bringing a bookstore to the Decorah area.
